McDowell's from 'Coming to America' is REAL and it's coming to Hollywood!

A sandwich shop located in Los Angeles is taking this year’s Halloween costume to the next level.

For just two days, Fat Sal’s in Hollywood will be transforming their restaurant into McDowell’s from the 1988 classic, Coming to America. Both the interior and exterior of their restaurant will be completely overhauled to resemble everything you remember from the movie. Some of the food being featured on the menu will be The Big Mick, The Zamunda Fries and the Sexual Chocolate Shake.

The 1988 comedy, directed by John Landis, was an original story created by Eddie Murphy. The film also featured Hollywood icons such as Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, John Amos, Samuel L. Jackson, Cuba Gooding Jr. and many more.

In Coming to America, Murphy (among other characters) playing Akeem Joffer, the Prince of the fictional African nation of Zamunda, comes to the United States of America to escape an arranged marriage and find a wife that will truly love him. In order to blend in and keep his royal background a secret, Akeem gets a job at McDowell’s, a fast food restaurant in Queens, New York.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, there have been rumblings of a Coming to America sequel, yet nothing official has been announced. Murphy is said to be involved with the development of the sequel, however, he has not publicly confirmed whether he or any of his co-stars will reprise their roles in the film. The latest news coming out of Hollywood is that Jonathan Levine, director of Warm Bodies and Black-ish TV show creator Kenya Barris are teaming up to pen the script.
